Outreach Ministries
Community Outreach at St. Mary’s includes both short and long term projects. Our long-term commitments involve assistance to various groups in Camden County:

New Visions Center in Camden
New Visions is a food and clothing bank in Camden. Gifts of clothing, food, household items and cash are donated to the center on a regular basis.

IHOC (Interfaith Homeless Outreach Committee)
IHOC raises funds and collects items needed for homeless adults and children throughout the year. St. Mary's supports two annual IHOC collections:

  • Pack-a-Sack for Back to School takes place every August. Book bags filled with school supplies are collected and distributed by IHOC to children living in area shelters.

  • Adopt-a-Box takes place during March. Shoeboxes are filled with toiletries and personal necessities for men, women and children.

Caring Hearts
St. Mary's helps support a child with AIDS by supplying necessities and fellowship. We contribute needed items to a day camp for AIDS-affected children and collect diapers for the families of these children. At Christmas, we sponsor a Caring Hearts tree and try to fulfill holiday wishes for all family members.

Habitat for Humanity
St. Mary's supports the Camden County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat's less labor-intensive volunteer opportunities include Worksite Welcomers, Special Event Organizers and the Speakers Bureau, which promotes their mission statement.

Project Interaction
This is a ministry of suburban churches reaching out to the needy of the inner city. We at St. Mary's are involved in the St. Paul's Breakfast Club. We go to St. Paul's in Camden on the 1st & 4th Sunday of each month to prepare and serve breakfast for the hungry.

Urban Promise
The work of Urban Promise is to educate children and young adults so that they will be future leaders in the community. There are after school programs, tutoring, gospel choir, SAT preparation, athletic leagues, Bible study and summer day camps.

Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD)
ERD provides physical and monetary assistance in the aftermath of crises such as the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. Checks may be sent to ERD at PO Box 12043, Newark NJ 07101-5043. For more information or online donations, please visit www.er-d.org.
