Pastoral Care

  • The Two By Two Ministry offers home visitation and/or communion to those who are ill or unable to leave their homes. Eucharistic Ministers, accompanied by Parish Visitors, run this ministry.

  • Ministry of Healing
The Ministry of Healing includes both our regular Wednesday Morning Service, with its prayers for healing and St. Mary's Prayer Fellowship.

  • The Prayer Fellowship is a group whose members pray daily for people and come together for strategic prayer for our church and community.

Acolytes
Acolyte service is open to all members of the parish, age 10 and over. Acolytes assist the ministers and other worship leaders in various aspects of worship.

Altar Guild
Altar Guild members work in teams, preparing the altars for all services. They care for silver, linens, altar hangings and vestments.

Ushers are responsible for seating people, distributing the bulletin, receiving the offering and assisting parishioners as needed during communion. Teams of four are assigned for the 10:00 AM Sunday services; teams of two are on hand for the 8:00 AM services.

Readers and Ministers

  • Readers are our worship team who are licensed to conduct Morning Prayer and preach.

  • Eucharistic Ministers are licensed to administer the host or chalice during communion. They also assist the clergy during home visits.

  • Lectors and Intercessors read the Old and New Testament lessons and the Psalm, and lead the Prayers of the People during services. Training and assignments are offered periodically.

Newcomers Ministry

The Newcomers Ministry plans and coordinates all aspects of welcoming visitors and new members to St. Mary's from their first visit through helping them become fully involved and committed parish members. Members of the ministry are in charge of training greeters, hosts and home visitors, for planning and running seminars, and for helping to involve new members with one or more parish ministries.

  • Greeters welcome visitors and newcomers to St. Mary's before the services.

  • Hosts are in the back of the church after the service to talk with guests (visitors and newcomers) to provide information about the parish and its programs, and to answer any questions they may have.

  • Home Visitors deliver welcome baskets to newcomers and let them know how happy we are that they visited St. Mary's. Their visit is very brief, but we want newcomers to know they are both welcome and wanted.
